A Good Day Fishing On The Santa Fe River

My friend ( Chris ) and I decided to put the canoe in just down stream of Ginnie Springs at a spot we had both fished at many times, This spot always had two advantages the fishing was good and you have beautiful women floating by you on tubes all day long. Well we get out there and the fish are tearing it up. Chris has about 8 or 10 catfish on his stringer and i have about the same on mine. I mean everytime the bait hit the bottom we got a hit. So we were starting to show off a bit, and had every right to. We had a pile of fish.

Along comes this group of tubers about 20 of them all tied together and wanted to check out our fish. So we grabed on to them and Chris even gave 1 or 2 of them a beer. Then this one girl about 23 in the center of the group spoke up. This girl was the most unattractive thing you have ever seen. I'm sorry, but she was ugly, and  really drunk flirtting with both of us.

So Chris and I both played it off and went back to tearing up some catfish, but as they begain to float away the girl asked. You are not going to hook us are you? I told her no, as I pulled  another fish into the boat then recasted, and told her we were fishing on the bottom of the river. Then all of a sudden the fish just stoped bitting. We sat there 4 or 5 minutes and nothing . Then I got another nibble followed by a good hit. I yanked the rod to set the hook, and out of all them people that very same girl let out a blood curdling scream. yelling I'm hooked, I'm hooked. So I cut the line just as fast as I could, and Chris asked. Why did you do that?  I replied. Some days you just got to let the big ones go. Besides I was not going to real in a mad woman that I had lied to.

Gilchrist County

When you think of Florida what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Most people say beaches, amusement parks, retirement homes, and sunburns.

The truth is Florida has a lot of interesting places unknown to most people. Gilchrist county for instance has over 62 natural fresh water springs alone the Santa Fe, and Suwannee River. That produces the most concentrated amount of fresh water springs in the world, With many fun activities for the whole family like canoing, fishing, camping, tubing, and hunting clubs .

With a wide variety of animals, birds, fish and even a occasional Florida alligator. This is a great place to see wildlife in it's natural environment.
